So, what is this site about?

My name is Seán Mallon. I set up Environmentally Conscious (EC) in 2016 because too many people were asking me what they could actually do about climate change - and I didn't have a good place to send them.

I've spent nearly 8 years as a climate change specialist at WWF, hold two degrees in sustainability and climate topics, and have spoken on panels at London Climate Week and the UN's COPs 26, 27, 28 and 29. I know this subject. But EC isn't a platform for experts - it's built for everyone else.

It is for the people who care but don't know where to start. For environmentalists' friends who "don't really get it."

To give you the information you need to understand what's happening, and the tools to do something about it. No preaching, no guilt, no jargon. Just clear, science-backed actions ranked by actual impact.

How We Put Out Words Into Action

Everything on this site is verified and science-backed. None of it is new - it's the clearest version I can give you of what we already know.

Most environmental websites either talk down to people or scare them off entirely. I wanted EC to feel more like a smart magazine than a campaign leaflet. It is neutral in tone, high in quality, and respectful of your time.

That means: no tracking cookies, no sign-ups, no pop-ups. Everything you need is visible the moment you land. If I can't earn your attention in three minutes, I haven't done my job.

Through EC, I joined the Climate Coalition in 2019 - the UK's largest group dedicated to climate action, representing over 140 organisations and 22 million people. Using this platform, I've been part of:

  • Public campaigns including the Mass Lobby, Great Big Green Week, and action against Heathrow expansion

  • Petitions and open letters to the UK government on net-zero legislation and COP commitments

  • The Fair Fares campaign, pushing for fairer rail pricing through the current Railways Bill
